Kogi LG Gets New Acting Chairman, As Councillors, Stakeholders, NYCN, APC Stalwarts Pledges Loyalty, Support To The New Leader

Following the Suspension of the Koton-Karfe, Kogi local government Chairman, the Vice Chairman of the council would assume office tommorow in an acting capacity pending the determination of the criminal case against the Chairman.

Global Times Nigeria report that the decision was reached by 9 out of 11 Councillors who sat and directed the Vice chairman, Hon Hassanat Jezhi to assume duty and act as the Chairman.

The Council leader Khadijat Yahaya who presided over the sitting on Thursday call for support to enable the new leader succeed in office.

She advised the Acting Chairman to be loyal and play to the rules of Gov. Yahaya Bello and the new direction administration geared towards providing dividends of democracy to Kogi LG populace.

Global Times Nigeria had earlier reported that the former Council Chairman, Hon. Isah Abdulkareem Bala Ecomog was on Wednesday suspended by the Kogi State House of Assembly following his indictment and hence the Vice Chairman took over leadership of the council.

Similarly, a stakeholder and coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, representing the Koton-Karfe, Comr. Isah Abubakar Ada Abu has congratulated the new acting Chairman. Ada Abu said the youth council his leadership will work closely with the council boss for growth, development, peace and unity of the people of Kogi LG.
