Kogi New FERMA Boss Promises to Live up to Expectations, Calls for Cooperation of Staff for Optimal Performance

The New Head of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in Kogi State, Engineer Ilyasu Kabiru says due attention will be given to the maintenance of Federal roads across Kogi State.

Engineer Kabiru gave the assurance in an interview with Globaltimesnigeria.com in his Office in Lokoja.

He said more attention will be given to monitoring of Federal Roads across the State to enable the Agency know the conditions of the roads and channel reports to appropriate quarters for rapid response.

“We have three categories of maintenance – Proactive, routine and periodic maintenance. For us to achieve our mandate, our approach will be more of proactive. My first priority now is to mandate all my engineers and technical officers to go round all federal roads across Kogi State in order to get the present condition of the roads, identify areas that requires urgent attention, we prepare proposals and send to our Head Office for management’s approval to enable us undergo proactive maintenance work”

Engineer Kabiru pointed out that cooperation of staff of the Agency was necessary at executing plans, stressing that he will ensure a condusive working environment with all staff.

“I am not new in Kogi Field Office. I was here for several years as an engineer and I worked under seven to eight FRME’s so, I know virtually all the staff to certain extent and they know my stance and my character and they have also assured me of their optimum cooperation upon my assumption of Office. We will be doing great works together as a team”

The Kogi State FERMA Boss commended the Managing Director of FERMA, Engr. Nurudeen Rafindadi for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Head of the Agency in Kogi State, pointing out that he will live up to expectations.
