Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has congratulated the Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief David Edward Onoja, the

Deputy Governor of Kogi State on their victory at the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja against the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) Natasha Apoti.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Femi Olugbemi said, ” it is heartwarming to receive the cheering news of the well deserved victory, and truly the petition lacked merit and is unsuccessful like the Judge rightly put it.”

He said the dismissal of the case is long envisaged due to the hearsay of the majority of the witnesses presented by the petitioner, hence the court has done justice to the case.

The statement further said, “the victory wouldn’t have come at a better time than this having worked hard with rigorous campiagns to earned the majority votes of the electorates across the 21 Local Government Areas in the state”.

Hon. Kolawole urged other petitioners not to bother themselves as the election held on the 16th November, 2019 was squarely won by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Yahaya Bello with an overwhelming victory.

He assured that the legislative arm under his watch with his colleagues will continue to collaborate with the Executives and other stakeholders to make laws that will enable Governor Yahaya Bello led administration to do more for the people of the state.

The Speaker on behalf of his family, other party faithfuls and well wishers, the APC Kogi West Senatorial District, management and staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly, felicitate with and congratulate the Executive Governor and his Deputy over their well deserved victory at the Election Petition Tribunal.
