Kwali Council Chairman Swears-In Elected Councillors

The chairman of the Kwali area council, Hon Danladi Chiya, on Tuesday, inaugurated the ten newly elected councilors in the council.

Our correspondent report that Hon Danladi Chiya, who was elected for another second term was inaugurated alongside other newly elected council chairmen on Tuesday, in Abuja, by the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello.

China, while inaugurating the councilors urged them to live up to the expectations of the people of their respective wards, saying they must ensure they must sustain the confidence their people reposed in them.

He said they should also see their position as a big task ahead of them, hence, it becomes imperative for them to discharge their responsibilities so that the people of their respective wards will feel the impact and democratic dividends of the present APC-led administration of the council.

The chairman, while appreciating the good people of the council for voting him for another second term in office, assured him that he will use the second tenure of his administration to correct some of the lapses he discovered during his first tenure in office.

He said he will ensure the systematic continuity that will usher in more serious business in good governance, adding that his administration will also ensure people who were not touched during his first tenure are carried along.

“You have shown to the world that nothing is impossible with God. May God bless you. And I will ensure that I use this second tenure of my administration to consolidate on the gains and learn lessons from the losses in my first tenure in office to make corrections,” he said.

He, however, said that his administration will continue operating an open-door policy, adding his administration is ever ready to accept any constructive criticism from any individuals that will place the council at a vantage position.

The chairman, therefore, called on the opposition to come and join hands with him to move the council to greater heights.
