The chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has sworn – in his newly elected ten wards councilors in the area, in which he charged them to live up to the spectations of the people of their respective wards.

Giri, who was earlier sworn-In alongside five other newly elected chairmen by the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello in Abuja, on Tuesday, gave the charge at the council’s conference hall.

He said the councilors must ensure they work for the benefit of their people irrespective of any tribal, ethnic, or political leanings.

He further advised the councilors to listen to the voices of everybody, including those who elected them and otherwise, adding,” this is to show that their victories are not misplaced.” he said.

“And besides, in politics, it’s always hard work and nothing but hard work. Our people want our political leaders to be united for the FCT to blossom,” he added.

Giri, however, noted that, despite religious teachings, people of the council have continued to elect credible men in their various wards.

He charged the elected councilors to join hands with him to do more for the betterment of the lives of youths and the physically challenged across the council.

The chairman, commended the Independent national electoral commission (INEC), the security, the media the political parties as well as the electorates for the peaceful election conducted across the council.

He thanked the FCT minister for believing in them and their support which according to him was instrumental to their success despite the trying time by some enemies of democracy.

He appreciated the APC stakeholders who were involved in making sure they emerged as the APC candidates as well as the electorates for enduring to vote them into office.
