Ahead of Wednesday’s LG election in Nasarawa State, authority of Toto LG has organized an expanded stakeholders peace and security meeting to ensure a hitch free exercise in the area.
The meeting which was at the instance of DPM of Toto LG Suleiman Odaudu brought together stakeholders of APC and PDP who are the major contenders in the election, heads of security agencies, religion, traditional and community leaders as well as youths and women leaders who all agreed to work for a successful conduct of the election for peace and progress of the area.
Speaking at the meeting, the DPM of Toto LG Suleiman Odaudu said he decided to called the security meeting for stakeholders and parties involved in the election to find a common ground on a peaceful election in the area devoid of any rancour.
The meeting agreed on rang of issues which include mass participation by citizens, peaceful conduct by electorates before, during and after the elections, the need for NASIEC to provide a level play ground and ensure early distribution of electoral materials among other resolutions that will ensure free exercise in the area.
In his speech, the paramount ruler of Toto, Onah of Ogye Alh. Umar Mohammed Azaki enjoined all stakeholders in the meeting to pass the message across to their people to ensure that the exercise is peaceful and will be successful in the area.
