NAGIS boost revenue in Nasarawa, get N912m in 11 months, targets N1billion by December, 2023 – DG Agassi

Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS), says it has collected over N912.3 million as internally generated revenue (IGR) to the state government coffer from January to date.

Hon. Sonny Agassi, the Director General of NAGIS, disclosed this when the led other management of the agency on its 2023 budget performance before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey today in Lafia.

Hon. Agassi appreciated the committee, the State Assembly and Gov. Abdullahi Sule for giving special attention to NAGIS to succeed.

He said that NAGIS approved revenue budget for 2023 was N 974,500,000.

“As from January to this moment, we collected N912, 274, 117 as revenue to the state government coffer and by God’s willing we will cross the line of N1billion at the end of 2023.

” We are working tirelessly to exceed the state government budget target for our agency and we will achieve it by God’s grace,” he said

Hon Sonny Agassi said that money was collected from Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), Right of Occupancy (R of O), rent and revenue from government properties, among others.

The Director General assured of his continue determination to generate more revenue as well as take NAGIS to the next level of development.

In his speech, Hon Emmanuel Ezekiel Manding, the Chairman, House Committee on Lands and Survey said that the exercise was to assess NAGIS 2023 budget performance.

” It is our constitutional duties to oversight your activities. It is not to witch hunt anybody.

” We are here to assess NAGIS 2023 budget performance and to see how we can assist you if you have grey areas.

He commended NAGIS for generating more revenue to the coffer of the state government

The committee chairman also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his determination in ensuring the development of NAGIS.

Also appearing before the committee was the management of the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development where the Permanent Secretary, Khalid Danjuma Adamu appreciated the committee for supporting its activities to succeed.

The Permanent Secretary said that Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration is doing its best in ensuring land development across the state.

He urged the ministry to continue to be up and doing in taking the ministry to the next level of development.

Hon Manding assured them of the committee support to succeed.
