NAGIS Generates N3.9B Revenue In Nasarawa – Says DG Agassi

The Nasarawa State Geographic Information System ( NAGIS) says on Wednesday that it has collected N 871million out of the N3.9billion revenue generated from January to date in the state.

Director General of NAGIS, Mr. Sunny Agassi made this known when he led other management team of the system to defend its 2021 budget proposal before the state House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey in Lafia today.

He said that the generation of the revenue was made possible due to commitment of the staff of the system and good policies put in place by the team of NAGIS.

“I want to appreciate you for supporting our activities and I call on you to sustain its.

“In 2020, we generated N3.9billion as revenue but as at November, we have collected N871million as revenue”.

“As we are all aware that the state or Nigeria was shut down due to COVID-19 and we resumed operation in July”.

“Despite that, in 2020 in terms of revenue collection was the best year in the history of NAGIS”.

“We are looking forward to 2021and by God’s grace, we will surpass our 2020 records,” he said.

Agassi urged the people to pay their grant rent to enable government continue to execute developmental projects across the state.

Earlier, Hon David Maiyaki, the Chairman of the Committee has assured the management of NAGIS of his committee’s support to succeed.

He has commended NAGIS for its efforts in generating revenue to the coffer of the state government.

“We will continue to support you to succeed and we are urging you to continue in that regards for the overall development of our state,” the chairman said.

The Chairman also assured the state government of continued synergy for the overall development of the state.
