Nasarawa Assembly Advises Contractors To Adhere Strictly To Specification.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has called on the contractors handling different projects across the state to adhere strictly to their contract agreements and specifications in the interest of development.

Chairman, House Committee on Works, Chief Hon. Abdul’aziz Suleiman Danladi (Sarkin Matasa Keffi), member representing Keffi East constituency, made the call when he led other members on an oversight function to an ongoing road construction at Sisibaki in Wamba Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Suleiman Danladi said that adhering to project specifications by contractors would go a long way in ensuring that quality works are done.

According to him, to ensure road durability, contract agreements and specifications must be observed for their durability in the interest of the state.

The lawmaker while at the project site observed that the laterite and stones levels of the road are not up to the required standard used for standard road construction.

He directed the contractor to increase the laterite, gravel and stones levels in order to ensure standard work.

The chairman added that the size of the culverts should be increased in order to accommodate the large quantum of water from the drainages.

He made a passionate appeal to the government to monitor Triacta Construction Company closely to enable it complete all the contracts it is handling.

Horace Cao, Personel Manager, CCECC Nigeria Limited says the work is 45% done and 30% of the total money was released.

He attributed some of the challenges faced to include release of funds and the effect of COVID-19 that affected the importation of some equipment and raw materials from abroad as a result of global lockdown of airports.

Mr Cao appreciated members of the House committee for their support in making sure that the work progresses.

Similarly, the Committee visited the completed construction of two blocks of twenty four shops in Gudi market handle by Brosino Investment Limited.

Abdulaziz expressed satisfaction with the work and commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for initiating projects that have direct bearing in the lives of the people of the state.

He noted that the market if properly utilized will boost economic activities in the area and would increase the revenue generation of the government.

The lawmaker advised the people of the state to appreciate what the government is doing by taking ownership of all the projects in their areas.

He said utilisation and maintenance of the projects has become imperative in view of the importance of the projects in improving on the lives of the people.

Christopher Osama, Project Engineer, Brosino Investment Limited, thanked the committee for their support in ensuring the completion of the project and promised to deliver the job according to specification.
