Nasarawa Assembly Launches Operation Do The Right Thing, Sensitizes Motorists On Traffic Regulations.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has launched Operation Do The Right Thing with a call on motorists and other road users to obey traffic rules and regulations in their interest and for the overall development of the  society.

The exercise was also aimed at encourage youths and other citizens to value whatever gainful work they are doing and do it rightly.

Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, the Chairman, House Committee on Information while launching the exercise in Lafia today alongside management of the state Youth Empowerment Scheme ( NAYES) urged Nigerians to always do the right thing for development to thrive.

Adamu Omadefu ( APC- Keana)  said that obeying traffic rules and regulations by motorists and other road users would not only promote peace but would also ensure speedy development in the state.

He also enjoined youths and members of the NAYES to be proud of the job always and ensure they put on their uniforms while on duties .

According to him, the Rt Hon Speaker, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi,  has mandated us to sensitize motorists and other road users to adhere to traffic rules and regulations as well as to encourage the youths on hard working.

” As you have seen, I am here to demonstrate leadership by example through controlling traffic in NAYES uniform.

“We stated the exercise from NAYES office to UAC road/ Lafia Square to  Lafia Total filling station roundabout and ended at Taal junction.

” This is to sensitise and ensure that motorists and other road users abide by traffic rules and regulations.

” It is when we do the right things that there will be peace and speedy development in the country,” he said.

The lawmaker, has urged the members of NAYES to take their jobs with all level of seriousness in the interest of development.

” I am also here to encourage the members of NAYES to take their jobs with all seriousness by also wearing their uniforms at all times.

” As their work is to control traffic, ensure security and environmental cleaniness in the state,” he said.

He has also called on motorists to avoid illegal packing along the  road side stressing that the operation “Do the Right Thing” will be a continued sensitization exercise that will be extended to other places like market,offices and other public places to ensure that everyone do the needful for the betterment of all.

The lawmaker assured NAYES of the assembly’s continued support to enable them succeed.

Also speaking, Hon Abdullahi Angibi, member representing Lafia Central constituency at the state legislature commended NAYES for being up and doing in ensuring that motorists adhere to traffic rules and regulations.

He has also urged motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to avoid unnecessary accident and save lives.

Responding, Abdullahi Labaran Maina, the state Commander of NAYES thanked the assembly for supporting the activities of the organisation to succeed.

He has assured of its continued commitment to ensure that motorists adhered to traffic rules and regulations for the overall development of the state.

” We will continue to partner  with other security agents in ensuring the protection of lives and properties in the state,” he said.
