Nasarawa Boat Accident, 12 died as Nasarawa Assembly condoles government, families

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has described the recent boat accident that claimed lives in Arikiya, Lafia Local Area of the State as most unfortunate

In a lead of condolence, Nasarawa State House of Assembly condoled with the State Government, bereaved family and Lafia Local Government over the death of 12 people who died at a river widely known as Kogi Kungra Kamfani in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government.

In a press statement signed and issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Jibrin Gwamna, Thursday, said Rt. Hon Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe made the condolence during an emergency sitting of the hallow chambers.

According to the Statement, Speaker Balarabe equally condoled with the bereaved families over the lost of their loved ones.

The statement read in part:

“It is very very sad that we lost 12 people, compromising of men and women in boat sharp in Arikiya, Lafia LGA.

“19 people were on board, 12 died and 7 rescued. Lafia LGA and our dear state have been thrown into mourning over this sad incident,” he said.

The House urged the family, Lafia LGA and the state government to bear the irreparable loss.

” On behalf of myself, Hon members and the staff, we condole with the bereaved families, Lafia LGA and the state government over their death in boat mishap

” We pray for the reposed of their souls,” the Speaker said.

The Speaker prayed God to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest.
