Nasarawa NYCN expresses concerned over Naira redesign policy, calls for calm, says Govt. Working to Ameliorate sufferings

As Nigerians masses continued to groan as a result of new monetary policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nasarawa State Chapter has expressed deep sympathy to the citizens of Nasarawa State and Nigerians as a whole.

In a statement singed and issued by Comr. Jaafar M. Loko, Chairman, NYCN, Nasarawa State and made available to Global Times Nigeria online news identify with the youthful population who are the majority in the State.

Loko who is also the Special Assistant (SA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State said the apex bank implementation of the monetary policy has attendant impact on the livelihood of the people.

“We are truly concerned about the inability of our people to access cash and the difficulties experienced in the use of electronic banking in many instances. This has no doubt caused severe discomfort among our people.”

“We commend the resilience of our people who in spite of the difficulties experienced as a result of the implementation of this policy have maintained decorum and refused to unleash anger through the destruction of public facilities like it has been experienced in many parts of the country.”

“We stand by every measure canvassed and deployed by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State to ensure that commercial banks dispense cash and make it available to our people, and improve electronics banking services.”

“We call on commercial banks in and around the state to do all that is required to improve their banking services and make cash readily available for public use.”

He therefore appealed to young people and indeed the good people of Nasarawa State to remain calm and keep faith with Federal Government while it takes measures to address all challenges associated with the implementation.

He assured that the council under his leadership is doing everything within it powers to ensure that Government is proactive and lives up to its responsibility.

As we approach the general election, we shall continue to engage with youth groups and leaders across the state to ensure that the entire exercise is conducted in the state in a peaceful atmosphere without any form of rancor. We encourage all young people to turnout en mass and vote for leaders across all levels.
