Nasarawa Speaker charges organisers of U-13 footbal competition to promote unity, peace, discover hidden talents.
With the commencement of the maiden edition of state u – 13 inter – primary school boys football championship, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, charged the organiser to discover hidden talents in the state.
He explained that sports all over the World remains the agent of promoting universal unity, peace understanding and stability of the diverse nations, religions and people.
The Speaker said, to promote unity and peace in the state, organisers should hunt for hidden talents in the state with all sincerely of purpose, devoid of ethnicity, religion or sections the potentials emanate from, for the overall development of the state.
Rt. Hon. Balarabe gave the charge while playing host to the organizers of the Maiden Edition of Nasarawa State U-13 Inter -Primary School Boys Football Championship Organising Committee in his office in Lafia on Thursday.p
He said football and other sporting activities promote unity and peaceful co-existence among the people, hence the need for his support to them in that direction.
The Speaker commended them for their efforts and initiatives, saying that catching them young will ensure quality players for the future in the state and the country at large.
” I want to thank the committee for the honour and I want to assure you of my every support to the success of the championship,” he said.
The Speaker also called on them and other people of the state to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule administration to succeed.
Earlier, the Organiser and CEO Aliyu Bello Charity Foundation, who is the State Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, said the visit was also to unveil the replica Jessy of the competition to the Speaker with his name on it as the number three citizen of the State, A Balarabe 03″ he said.
The Organizer appealed for support and cooperation from the State Assembly to enable the event succeed.
The APC State Secretary also used the opportunity to congratulate the Speaker for his victory in the just concluded primary election.
Bello commended the leadership style of the Speaker for ensuring good working working relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of government throughout his eight years in office.
He wished the Speaker success as the Speaker of the 7th Assembly following his track records in the area of human relation, peace, progress and development of the State.
It was gathered that arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of the competition which is going to be part of activities marking the inauguration ceremony of Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
