Nasarawa Speaker led Assembly Leadership To Al-makura’s Abuja Residence To Pay Homage

Governor, Sen Al-makura’s executive/Legislative relationship was at its best with 5th Assembly under Speaker Balarabe, moreso that it quelled high tension impeachment perceptions, created as a hallmark of efforts of the preceding 4th Assembly, a position that characterized Al-makura’s First Tenure (tension) in Office.

The visit is a show of honour and respect for the former Governor of the State, who is easily recognised architect of modern Nasarawa State.

The visit was therefore to identify with him in his quest for the critical national party assignment as well as to appreciate all the good things he has done for the state and demonstrate to him the unmitigated respect for the wonderful relationship he had with the 5th Assembly, between 2015 and 2019, during his second tenure, with Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as speaker.

The relationship which has held even onto this day, years after Al-makura has left office in 2019 is worth upholding for the good of the state.

Thanks to the leadership styles of Balarabe which skilfully succeeded in stabilizing the system for the former governor Al-makura, consideriing the chequered experience of a nasty and inglorious impeachment moves he suffered, not only against himself, but which threatened to slow down development in the state in his first tenure from 2011 to 2015.

The visit had in the Speaker’s entourage, Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga, House Leader and DE-FACTOR GOVERNOR, he was a strong supporter of the then government of Al-makura. Also in the group, Hon. Muhammed Agah Muluku, the most ranking member (longest serving member) in the Nasarawa House of Assembly and one of the die hearts of then Al-makura government.

Also in the group was a staunch supporter of the last government, Barr. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali (APC Lafia North) who, as a result of strong alliance with Al-makura, left his former party, PDP for APC in the hay days of Al-makura’s administration. He is today, by virtue of the House order of protocols, the 7th person in the line of Legislative leadership.

In this visit was also the powerful Deputy Majority Leader, Daniel Oga Ogazi, a well-known Al-makura boy, who rode and rose on the crest of Al-makura’s political machine to the political limelight.

These are the Speaker’s henchmen and archetype or ‘cabal’, so to say, that has developed strong influence owing to their having seen yesterday and today as all members of past 5th and the present 6th Assemblies.

They have not only supported strongly, the last administration but are seen today as molders and drivers of the House as they work knit with their colleagues to give the present government of Engr. Abdullahi Sule a push to succeed.
