NGO Seeks Partnership with Nasarawa Assembly on Environmental Degradation, Hygiene.

A Non Governmental Organization, Nasarawa State Network for Environment and Climate Justice, NASNECJ, has seek for partnership with the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to promote tree plantation, environmental hygiene and other activities that will tackle challenges associated with environmental degradation.

To this end NASNECJ has carried out its campaign to the state assembly where it interfaced with the Clerk and house standing committee secretaries to mobilize campaign on how best to tackle flooding and other environmental challenges to safe humanity from dangers associated with environmental degradation.

Leader of the Network Mr. Emmanuel Dangana Ari said that flooding and other environmental challenges has claimed may lives,destroyed properties and displaced many hence the need for the Network to come up which have backing from international organization to achieve the mission on how best to tackle environmental challenges threatening human existence .

He revealed that they were in the state assembly to familiarized with the leadership of the House and seek for legislation that will back their campaign for a more effective results.

Responding, the Clerk of the House Mr Ego Maikeffi Abashi who was represented by the Director Legal
Services Barr. Obiri Uji commended the organization for the advocacy which he described as life serving initiative and assured them of the House readiness as peoples oriented institution to support fully any activities that is life touching.

According to him before now the House has passed a law to that effect with resolutions on issue that deals with flooding and other environmental challenges and will not relent in it’s efforts thus assuring them that its door are wide open at all times promising to key into what they demanded from the House.

High points at the advocacy were presentation of statistics on planet risk data on communities affected by flood in Nasarawa State and presentation of flowers and trees to the House for planting.
