OJN Receives Hero’s Welcome as he Arrives Kogi State

The newly elected Vice President, West Africa Pan-African Youth Union (PYU), Amb. Oladele John Nihi received a hero’s welcome in Lokoja metropolis during his return to Kogi State recently.

Executives and members of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kogi State Chapter, decided to organize the reception for Amb. Nihi, given his numerous contributions to the association in particular and youths in general.

Speaking during the event held at the Kogi Youth House, Lokoja, Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Kogi State Chapter, His Youthfulness, Usman Ogohi Samuel applauded Amb. Oladele John Nihi for changing the narrative of youth participation in politics and making the country proud globally.

Amb. Ogohi equally appreciated Nihi for announcing Kogi State across the continent, making Nigeria proud at the continental level and for saving the country the embarrassment of not having a representative and announcing Kogi State at the continental level.

In his words, “today as we celebrate our very own Amb. Nihi John as the Vice President West African Pan-African Youth Union (PYU), we as youths of our dear country Nigeria are still clamoring for more real opportunities to participate in political processes and contribute to practical solutions that advance development

“In view of the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello, his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu and our very own Amb. John Nihi, whom we have all gathered here to celebrate today, I can boldly say that young people’s active contributions can bring democratic values to life, leading to the overturning of authoritarian practices” he added.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Idris Musa urged Amb. Niyi to project the image of the state and the country well, while advising him to bear the interest of Kogi youths at heart at all times.

He assured of the state NYCN’s readiness to work closely with the Pan-African Youth Union by providing necessary support and mobilization whenever called upon.

Earlier during a similar reception at the Government House, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Students Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Jubril while receiving the PYU Vice President and his entourage on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello, his Chief of Staff, Pharmacist Asuku Jamiu and other critical stakeholders in the state, welcomed Amb. Nihi home and appreciated him for making the state proud.

In his response, the Vice President, West African Pan-African Youth Union (PYU), Amb. Oladele John Nihi thanked Gov. Yahaya Bello for his fatherly role and commitment towards the positive integration of the state’s youths, just a as he lauded Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu for been a mentor and a role model to him.

He also expressed his profound gratitude to the state NYCN Council through the chairman, His Youthfulnes Usman Ogohi for their unflinching support and the home coming ceremony.

Amb. Nihi further promised to carry the state youths across the global stage, while stressing that aspiration of Nigerian Youths for GYB2PYB 2023 presidential seat would be tabled before other Presidents of other African countries for support.

Present at the meeting were the the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Idris Musa, past chairmen of Kogi NYCN, political appointees, friends and well wishers.
