…Says M.O.R.E agenda ‘ll enhance economic growth, continuity in government
Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has disclosed that the state Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, supported and worked tirelessly to ensure the victory of the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP, because he love the state dearly and wanted the best for her at this time.
CMPG made the disclosure in a congratulatory message to the Governor-Elect on Wednesday, signed by the group’s convener and Chairman, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe and Publicity Secretary, Tagbarha Malcolm, and made available to newsmen in Asaba.
The group noted that governor Okowa is consistently passionate about the overall development of the state as can be seen from his good governance strides in job and wealth creation, infrastructure and socioeconomic development as well as in Education, Sports, Health, Peace building, et al, and wanted a successor with exemplary leadership qualities to build on his enviable legacies.
It was in the light of the above, CMPG claimed, that Okowa had to support the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, who is well known to have exhibited and still exhibiting good measure of integrity and competence; a prudent manager of resources, good listener, team player, accessible, incorruptible, humble, a philanthropist and detribalized political gladiator, adding that these outstanding positive personality traits also endeared Oborevwori to the hearts of Deltans who massively voted for him and PDP in the just concluded governorship election in the state.
And on Wednesday 29th March during the group’s 18th monthly meeting in Asaba, CMPG passed a vote of confidence on governor Okowa and his administration over good governance, peace building and sustainable development, and assured the good people of Delta State that the incoming governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori will build on the solid legacies of the incumbent governor when he officially assume office as governor on May 29, this year.
CMPG further assured that dividends of democracy and prosperity for all Deltans will continue in the state, counting from May 29, which is the commencement date of M.O.R.E Agenda implementation that would eventually facilitate meaning development, provide Opportunity for all Deltans, kickstart realistic reforms and bring about a new era of enhanced peace and security, as well as social harmony anchored on transparency, accountability, honestly, equity and good conscience.
“CMPG joyfully and graciously congratulates her Principal and incoming governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP, and the Deputy Governor-Elect, His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, on the occasion of the presentation of Certificate of Return to them by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, being the undisputed winners of the gubernatorial election on March 18 in the state.
“It is crystal clear that PDP victory at the polls is connected to multifaceted reasons, which includes the strong determination of the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s overwhelming and total support for the incoming governor, which was borne out of his love for the state and to ensure continuity in government for the benefits of all Deltans.
“Another undisputed reason for PDP landslide victory wherein she won in twenty one local government areas was the fact that the Crown Prince of Osadebey House, Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, commands enormous and inestimable support and respect of majority of Deltans due largely to his enviable integrity, uncommon humility, competence, transparent honesty, goodwill and unblemished trust built over the years.
“CMPG make bold to say that Oborevwori administration will advance Delta as encapsulated in his M.O.R.E manifesto that would soon translate to economic policies and programmes of the state for implementation, beginning from May 29. For real, good governance will continue to be a reality in Delta State, moving forward.
“We urge Deltans to continue to support the Okowa administration till terminal date of May 29, and equally extend the same and/or greater measure of support and partnership to the incoming Oborevwori administration. He promise to listen more,do more and achieve more for the state and people.
“We pray God Almighty to continue to grant our Principal and incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and his able deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, the required dose of creativity, foresight, wisdom, good health and divine protection throughout their eight years tenure and beyond,” CMPG prayed.
