…Urges Udurhie 1 To Foster Peace And Community Enterprise Development In His Domain.

An appeal has gone to the new traditional ruler of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, King Obukowho Arthur Monday Whiskey, Udurhie 1, to assist the state government in peace building efforts, integration of community enterprise development and deepening of sociocultural relations with other kingdoms in Delta state.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr (Barrister) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe made the passionate appeal In his congratulatory message to the new Ovie of Idjere Kingdom, who was presented the staff of office on Monday October 26, by the state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, represented by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro.

Oghenesivbe said royal fathers are to a reasonable extent the backbone of constitutional democracy, due largely to their enviable roles as custodians of culture and tradition of kingdoms in 774 local governments across the country, pointing out that kings have great influence in the affairs of States and the Nation.

He noted that Kings subjects look up to them for sociocultural and political directions, credible leadership and the advancement of community enterprise development which is why their enviable roles in governance cannot be overemphasized.

Okowa’s EAC further asserted that great kings align with the yearnings and aspirations of their subjects at all times; a core value which he humbly urged the new monarch to adopt, so as to speed up development, sustain peace and tranquility as well as enhance progress of the good people of Idjerhe Kingdom at home and abroad.

And as a seasoned Journalist before mounting the throne of his forefathers, Oghenesivbe appealed to King Udurhie 1 never to forget his primary constituency and former colleagues in the Mass Media, adding that once a Journalist, always a Journalist.

“I respectfully join my leader and boss, the platinun governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the good people of the state, to congratulate the new Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Udurhie 1 on the occasion of his coronation and presentation of staff of office by the governor.

“It is a thing of joy that we now have another royal father with sound academic credentials, a man of aristocratic dignity, and a human rights crusader as the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom.

“I wish to passionately appeal to our new king to align himself with the yearnings and aspirations of his subjects and the Stronger Delta vision of this administration by assisting government to promote community enterprise development in his domain as well as enhance peace building in the state, promote equity and justice for all, and in the same token help society to discard issues that are repugnant to natural justice.

“I pray that God Almighty grant King Udurhie 1 of Idjerhe Kingdom the required long life, prosperity and the uncommon wisdom to rule over his people.

“May his reign bring abundant blessings and uncommon development to Idjerhe Kingdom,” Oghenesivbe prayed.
