Pioneer LEA head teacher in FCT dies at 63

The first head teacher of the Local Education Authority (LEA) Yimi, in Ikwa ward of Gwagwalada area council of the FCT, Mr Audu Abwabafiaya has died at the age of 63 years.

The deceased first son, Solomon Audu, confirmed his father’s death at the deceased burial on Monday, at Yimi village of the council.

He said his late father died around 7: 30: pm on Sunday at a private hospital in Zuba, after a brief illness, saying his remains was conveyed to Yimi hometown where he was buried.

Audu, said his late father left behind two wives and six children, which he said he is the senior in the family.

The former chairmanship candidate of the PDP during the last area council in the area, Kasim Mohammed Ikwa, who witnessed the burial of the deceased, condoled with family and entire residents of Yimi community over the death of the late head teacher.

He described the late head teacher as hard working and dedicated to his duty, while he prayed for God to grant the deceased and enternal rest in paradise.

Speaking on behalf of four head teachers of LEA primary schools who attended the burial, Mr Falalu Mohammed Salihu, head of teacher of LEA primary school, Zuba, expressed sadness over the lost of their colleague, saying the late head teacher was a very hard working in the course of discharging his duties.

He prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace, while urging the family to see the death as natural one.

City & crime learnt that the deceased was the pioneer head teacher of LEA primary school, Yimi, which was established in 1996.
