The revisionist, Crusoe Osagie, whose role is to advise Governor Obaseki’s government on Media and Communication, has continued to do his job in all the wrong possible ways, devoid of truth, ethics, and principles. His expertise lies in twisting narrative, miscommunication, and serially deceiving the public with doctored stories. Although much is not expected of him, given the government he is serving, but the devious practice is getting out of hand.
It is on record that on 29th January, just 4 days ago, Governor Obaseki declared to the hearing of the world that he is the Governor of Edo State, and therefore authorizes that any opposition against his government should be dealt ruthlessly with. As expected, the large number of thugs, thieves, and violence mongers under his payroll took to this permission and began causing a commotion in the state.
The immediate actualization of those threats to deal with opposition came as early as February 1st when a group of thugs, using Molotov Cocktail, the popular bottle bomb, attacked a series of individuals who they believed has the political weight to oppose and perfect the ousting of the incompetent governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Specifically, the immediate past Attorney General of Edo State, Barrister Henry Idahagbon, one of the political leaders openly opposed to the second term bid of the failed Governor Obaseki escaped death by the whiskers when paid assassins attacked and opened fire on his Benin office with the intent of murdering him.
Curiously, despite the danger these attacks present to democracy and expression of constitutional freedoms in Edo State, as well as the direct indictment they offer on the level of security and protection of lives, the Obaseki-led administration has kept mum, offering no word of condemnation or even demand an investigation.
Does anyone require any further proof of a direct link other than the fact that barely hours after the governor issued menacing threats to the opposition in the state, people are being hunted with guns and bombs, and the state government has turned a blind eye?
These victims were still dealing with the trauma of such a profound attack when the heartless storyteller, Crusoe Osagie who only recently came under attack from one of Obaseki’s propagandists for his perversion of due process and enthronement of nepotism by offering unjustified government roles and contracts to members of his family, rushed to the media to distort narratives.
Crusoe Osagie, still pursuant to their ultimate agenda—which is to remove the National Chairman of the party from his position so Obaseki can continue to run amok, his violence and incompetence given a free reign and no curtailing—entered the worst distortion of narratives ever known to human. This distortion is deemed the worst because it abuses the intelligence and memory of the people of Edo State.
Coming from a background where his principal was wagging fingers and threatening fire and brimstone, and going to a narrative that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the one carrying out violent attacks (whose victims are, by the way, friends of Oshiomhole) is simply numbing. It is so outright wrong, laughable that it is shocking in its horrible falsehood.
But a sentence gave up Osagie, Obaseki and all the children of evil persecuting Edo. This sentence made it clear that these people are behind the violent attacks, hoping to use it as evidence and chip to argue for the removal of Oshiomhole. It read thus:
”If Oshiomhole was not occupying the Office of the National Chairman of the APC – even though he has been suspended in the ward, Local Government Area and state levels – he certainly would have been unable to conduct himself in this manner that has left the people of Edo State in a state of apprehension.”
But be that as it may, the strategy is basic such that a primary school pupil can decipher the crude intention laced in that statement. What this achieves ultimately, is the calling to attention, the character of the persons who are meant to protect the lives and properties of the people of Edo State. They are using the peace, sanity, and lives of the people as a pawn, as a means to their own selfish ends.
Conclusively, it is imperative to remind Crusoe Osagie and his principals that their motives, in their grand mendacity, will certainly come to naught. They should remember that everything has a price, a cost and that their behaviors today, will be paid for in full. The people of Edo State are seeing through their machinations, and when the time is right, with their party membership cards and PVC, they will make Obaseki pay.
