Sons/Daughters of Gegu Beki Celebrates Upgrade of Nyiwo of Gegu Beki Stool, Hails Engr. Bashir Gegu’s New Chieftaincy Tittle

Gegu Beki Community of Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi was agog with eminent personalities from all walks of life who have come to celebrate with the people of the Area over the upgrade of the stool of Nyiwo of Gegu-Beki to a first class status by the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Personalities at the event who spoke about the personality of Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, whose traditional title was also upgraded from Masani Daudu to Danmasani Daudu described Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources as a man of impeccable character.
In a lead of appreciation, Hon. Abdullahi Idowu Suleiman, the Senior Special Assistant on Data Collection and Population to Kogi State Governor, says he was overwhelmed with today event considering the large turnout of dignitaries from all walks of life. He said the occasion was a very memorable one, saying the event was a dream come true.
The newly appointed Governor’s Aide pointed out that some of the founding father are no longer alive to witnessed the progression of the community but however, said the upcoming generation will be happy with what they met and subsequent continue from there.
He said sometimes ago last year, the Gegu Beki community was upgraded from 3rd Class to 2nd Class and most recently the humane Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello listen to their cry of their leader and son of the soil, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources which gave birth to the new development.
He said the Solid Minerals Commissioner, Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu has done so well and hence the community find him worthy for the upgrade of his new title, Sadauna Daudu of Gegu Beki Kingdom.
Hon. Suleiman who was a former Chairmanship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress, for kogi Local Governor, appreciated the Governor for finding him worthy for the appointment. While thanking the Almighty for making it possible through his their leader and pledged to be loyal to government. He said.
Contributing to the event, Hon. Idris Maikudi Girinya, Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs to Kogi State Governor, said their leader who doubles as Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resource, Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu has restored the lost glory such as socioeconomic status, and return life back to the community through his people’s oriented leadership styles and services he has facilitated using his office.
He also said the award winning Commissioner has equally instill confidence in the existence of ordinary citizens from the area.
According to the Governor Aide, Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu was singled out for complementing fragile security situations in the entire Koton-karfe, Kogi LG that was once a nightmare from kidnapping, banditry, activities of criminals and criminality.
He said grading and upgrading of traditional stools, appointment of sons of the soil and provision of infrastructural developments among others.
Traditional rulers within and outside Kogi State include, Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman (Agaba Idu), Ohinoyi Ogye, Toto, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammed Umar Azaki, Abaji, and while some sent in their representatives.
The event feature a rich cultural display even as other tribes in the area contributed immensely towards the success of the event.
