The Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has said that his administration will deployed all avenue to flush out criminal elements from the area.
The Chairman said security has been beefed up with relevant agencies to ensure the safety of life and property in the area.
The council boss made the assertion at a meeting with heads of security agencies in the the council, including the Divisional Police Officer, S P Yusuf Umar, Head of the Department of State Security (DSS) in charge of Toto and traditional rulers from the three districts of Toto LG, saying the collective efforts was to curb criminal activity across Toto LG.
The expanded peace and security meeting held inside the council chambers, Thursday, with chairman charging the traditional rulers to cooperate with security agencies towards information gathering and checkmate excesses, report suspicion elements to a law enforcement.
The council boss acknowledge the sacrifice and commitment of the security agencies for living above board, urging them not to relent in the onslaught against insecurity in the area.
“I sincerely thanked Almighty Allah, and expressed my deepest gratitude to men and officers of the security agencies for their proactive measure and of course the Paramount Rulers. Your cooperation have reduced criminal activities; such as banditry, kidnapping in the area.”
The chairman who reaffirm his administration commitment to create an enabling environment where everyone will carryout his/her legitimate business with out fear from the unknown.
He therefore appealed to Farmers and Herders to always do their farming work with in the ambit of the law, urging both to always report any misunderstanding to the appropriate authorities for amicable settlement.
Also speaking at the meeting the Ohimege of Opanda Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, president Toto local government traditional council charged the Paramount Rulers to always support the security agents in providing useful information and logistically too as government alone can not satisfied the big task ahead of them.
The monarch assured the chief executive chairman on cooperating with them for cordial working relationship.
In their separate contribution the Divisional Police officer Toto local government division S P Yusuf Umar, Flight Lieutenant Adanka sector commander OPWS Ugya and Capt. NS Abdullahi CO Kenyehu Super camp both said their efforts to the protection of lives and properties will be fruitless with out the cooperation of the people of the local government area, they thanked the vision and mission of the chairman for calling for today’s meeting assuring their prompt response to any useful information that may help them combat criminals in the area.
The meeting was well attended by all security chiefs, council members, Paramount Rulers, Ardo, opinion leaders like CAN JNI Youth, business men and lots of others.
