Chairman, Toto Local government area, Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has tasked communities in the area on the need to support government policies and programmes to attract development to the grassroots.

He gave the task during the sensitization and awareness compaign on peace building initiative embarked opon by Special assistant to the Governor Abdullahi Sule, Adamu Musa Alkali, held at Karmo and Tudun Uku communities in Toto local government area, Monday.

Addressing leaders of the Karmo and Tudun Uku communities, youths, women, Fulanis and other stakeholders, Chairman, Toto Local government area, Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, enjoined the the communities to support government of the day in order to attract development to the area.

According to him, government is not unaware of the challenges bedeviled the community and assured them that in no distance time their plights will be a thing of the past as government will extend it’s development strides to the area hence the need for them to support the policies and programmes to enable it succeed.

Earlier, the special assistant to the Governor Abdullahi Sule, Adamu Musa Alkali, said the essence of the sensitization campaign to the community was at the instance of the Governor to identify problems facing the communities and then report back to him for action.

According to him, Governor Abdullahi Sule cannot be everywhere thatvwas why he appointed Aids that can assist him by spreading the activities of government to nooks and crannies of the state, calling for support to enable him achieve the desired objectives.

Also speaking, the special Assistants to Governor Abdullahi Sule on political, Abdullahi Masallaci and that of Farmers herders clashes, Abubakar Ladan, emphasized that their visit was to ensure that peace and unity are maintained in the community as well as informing people at the rural areas on the achievements recorded so far by Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration in the state, and urged them to tolerate one another irrespective of their differences.

While stating the major challenges facing the community, the youth leader of Karmo, Ubam Buriki Amos and Assistant Women Leader, Tani Maikasuwa Andrew, enumerated challenges to include, electricity, schools, water, health facilities among others, just as they also called on government to upgrade their traditional institutions for the benefit of all.
