US Elections: Oyo Felicitates With Nigerian-born Democrat, Owolewa, Over His Electoral Victory In US Polls

Oyo State Government has congratulated Mr. Oye Owolewa, the first Nigerian to be elected into the US House of Representatives.

A statement from the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde, Hon. (Mrs.) Bolanle Sarunmi Aliu said the Oyo State Government was pleased with Mr Owolewa’s incredible feat, describing it as well deserved.

She equally congratulated his parents, especially his mother who hails from Ibadan, Oyo State, admitting the brilliant records of Adeoye Owolewa, a grandson of late senior advocate of Nigeria, Phoebe Ajayi-Obe.

She said Owolewa, serves as a role model to youths of Oyo State, advising him to diligently carry out his duties as a new congressman while he impacts positively on the community who entrusted him with their votes.

Mr. Oye Owolewa, the first Nigerian to be elected into the US House of Representatives.

“On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, I congratulate Mr. Adeoye Owolewa, a true son of the soil. We commend your resilience and hardwork, which has paid off at the end”, Aliu said.
