Water Scarcity In Lokoja Was As A Result Of Ravage Flooding Which Affected Some Operational Machines — Hon. Danga Appeals To Residents

Kogi Water Resources Commissioner, Hon. Abdulmumini Danga Exceeding all expectations in his Ministry.

Following the disruption of water supply in Lokoja, the State capital, Hon. Abdulmumini Danga, Commissioner for Water Resources, Kogi State, has appealed to Lokoja residents to exercise patience over non availability of water supply that the disruption by water Board was as a result of ravage Flooding from River Benue.

Hon. Danga, in a statement he personally signed and made available to Newsmen expressed worried that the Scarcity of water was not intensional that the ravage Flooding has affected some operational machines in the water board.

According to the Commissioner, Lokoja Residents will face the challenge of water scarcity for some time and assured that as soon as the water reduce the board will resume full operation.

He maintained that water supply to these settlements will be disrupted for now to enable the high level of water reduce for the machines to start working as usual.

He said normal water supply will be restored to these areas after the flood which has taken over some operational machines normalize.

He advised Lokoja residents especially those affected not to panic over the natural occurrence that will last through the period of disruptions in water supply.

According to him, “the Water Board also expressed its apologies to residents of the affected areas for any inconveniences that may be experienced as a result of the disruptions”.

He said the residents were informed before the flood “initially nobody thought it would take longer as this as most of the machines has been taken by flood.

“I also want to use this medium to inform the General public that Governor Yahaya Bello led Administration will Continue to Serve and place the Welfare of every kogites first and above any other interest. We are here because of you hoping and praying that Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy will have compassion on us in due time and reduce the rising of the water in order for us to start our full operation”. He said.
