YAN Diaspora-Directorate Hails Nigeria At 60, Calls For Youths Inclusion In Leadership, Unveils Agenda For Members

HE, Helen Mukoro Idisi, Newly Appointed YAN Head Of Mission/DG, Diaspora Directorate

The newly appointed Diaspora Director General and head of mission, Youth Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, Her Excellency, High Chief Helen Mukoro Idisi, has enjoined Nigerian leaders irrespective of religion, tribe and political affiliation to bring in young brains into sensitive positions towards contributing their own quota in the overall interest of Nigeria.

She urge Nigerian youths home and abroad to join YAN as to benefits from its lives touching programs that is about to formally kick off soon.

She disclose this during an extra ordinary meeting with members of the organization on Thursday and made some following recommendation:

The YAN Diaspora-Directorate would create a Facebook TV documentary and interviews events, we will discuss the Youths and their activities in the diaspora, it will include business, trade, women and girls, education, leadership, job and empowerment opportunities, security, health, politics, leadership, mental health, and the challenges they face in the diaspora.

“We will first air the Rt. Hon Speaker, Her Excellency, the Head Mission of the Diaspora-Directorate along with other ambassadors from Germany, France, Ireland and three ambassadors from different states in Nigeria on how to power our youths, and 2 months later my SSA on Communication and Public Relations and Special Assistant on Investment and Trade will have a face-to-face interview with all YAN State ambassadors, and all elected officials at Federal, State and local level in government institutions, organizations and Chamber of Commerce to enable us to get feedback on what each local government, state and Federal government and organizations would need the diaspora to do for them or participate in their institutions and events. Yahya Idris of Global Times could join the SSA on Communication and Public Relations to Host the YAN Diaspora-Directorate Facebook TV Network, as he invites guests to the weekly event, among others, this will help us to support YAN. She said.

The statement further stated Nigerians home and abroad can JOIN to watch the program live every Monday at 1.30pm Nigeria Time, and 10.30am on Wednesdays and 7.30pm on Fridays.
