Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has congratulated Comrade Salihu Alkali over his re-election as the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ)

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary Jibrin Gwamna quotes the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi as describing the re-election of Comrade Salihu Alkali as well deserved considering his breakthrough during his first tenure.

The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen felicitated with Comrade Salihu Alkali and his new executive members wishing them a successful and fruitful tenure.

While acknowledging the role of Journalists in nation building, Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi calls for enhance partnership between the Journalists and Government for peace and speedy development to thrive.

He re-assured of the State Assembly’s readiness to partner the media for a more informed society, good governance, peace, unity and development.

It would be reported that On July 20th, 2023, the Nasarawa State Chapter of NUJ, conducted its election.

It would be reported that five Executive members have been re-elected, they are Comrade Saihu Mohammed Alkali Chairman from , Prescious FM Chapel, Mr Sunday John, Secretary- NAN from Correspondent’s Chapel, Anna Jatau Kuje as Treasurer- Nasarawa Broacasting Service ( NBS) chapel, Mr Abari Solomon Dogara- Financial Secretary from NTA Chapel, Mr Abubakar Sadiq Ayigu as Assistant Secretary- Information Chapel ( Ministry of Information) .

The Executive members that were elected for the first term include Adamu Joel as Vice Chairman from Information Chapel and Mary Elawani as Auditor from NBS chapel.

They have been elected to pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.
