2023 elections: Muge joins Abia House of Assembly race, promising responsive representation of Umuahia South

Chief Chukwuemeka Iroegbulam (Muge), and Chief Executive Officer, Demukas Laundry and Dry-cleaning service, has announced his interest to run for the position of the lawmaker for Umuahia south Constituency of Abia State House of Assembly come 2023 general elections.

The prominent Abia party Stalwart disclosed that he would be actualizing his ambition on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, pointing out that he arrived at deciding several clarion calls and demands by the majority of people of Umuopara, Ubakala and Olokoro clans that formed the Umuahia south local constituency, and as well as socio-cultural groups and consultation with other critical stakeholders from the area.

Chief Iroegbulam, who doubled as Agbawodikeizu II of Ekenobizi Autonomous community Umuopara and immediate past Special Adviser to Abia State Governor, promised effective and responsive representation with a human face and also regretted the poor representation to effect changes in economic and Infrastructural development, especially, in the area of project attraction and implementation for the overall good of the people.

He also maintained that enough has not been done to refix the Infrastructural deficits in umuahia south, assuring also that he would channel his vast wealth of experience from the private sector, to change the narratives in the governance of Umuahia south state constituency, most importantly, raising the bar in Infrastructure attractions, youth, men and women empowerment and development Programmes, public health service, education scholarship schemes, encouragement of Small and Medium Scale Bussiness Enterprises and Skill Acquisition Training schemes for unemployed indigent people of the area, attraction and provision of school blocks to enhance reading and learning in educational institutions across Umuahia south LGA etc.

Asked to react to recent calls by stakeholders and groups asking the Speaker of Abia State of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji, to join the 2023 governorship race for the seat of Governor of the state, Chief Iroegbulam, insisted that Orji has demonstrated uncommon leadership in the advancement of growth and development of Abia state.

He further maintained that the Speaker’s capacity, ability and competence to consolidate the overwhelming gains laid on the ground by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state, expressing utmost confidence that Hon Chinedum Orji if given the chance and supported will work to achieve a stable and prosperous Abia economically and Infrastructurally.

Irregular also noted that bountiful visible developmental strides being recorded by the present administration in the state could be best attributed to, the existing harmonious relationship between the Executive and legislature arms of government in Abia state fostered by the Assembly Speaker, Hon Chinedum Orji.

His words, “The speaker has made marks in empowerments and development of Indigent and non-constituents, who haVe one way or the other benefited gifting of vehicles by the Speaker, and as well as the attraction of the completed mini sports stadium within and across the Umuahia central constituency, the attraction of construction and rehabilitation of roads in rural and urban areas, building of houses to fewer privileges in Umuahia area and beyond”.

Chief Iroegbulam further described the emergence of Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is the best thing that happen to the people of Abia state, concluding that the number one lawmaker will not disappoint if supported to mount on the highest political leadership seat of Abia State.
