2023 Kogi Guber: APC swallows 5 political parties on the march to November election.

The morale of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state has been boosted as five political parties and their candidates in the race for the November Governorship election withdrew and endorsed it’s candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The group named as “United Progressive Political Parties”, comprising the All Peoples Party (APP), Africa Democratic Party (ADP), Boot Party (BP), National Rescue Movement (NRM) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) , declared their withdrawals of their parties and candidates from the forthcoming November Governorship election.
At a press conference held on Saturday in Lokoja, the group, United Progressive Political Parties, led by the Candidate of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, Mallam Abdulgafar Dirisu, declared that it has resolved to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and endorsed the candidature of Ahmed Usman Ododo the APC.
In attendance at the press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, press centre, Lokoja, were Onaji Sunday, APP candidate, Prince Yahaya Mandal, Kogi ADP Chairman, Muhammed Kabir Umar, Boot Party candidate, Bala Abdulgafar Dirisu and Honourable Fatimah Suleman, Zenith Labour Party candidate.
“We have come to this crucial decision after a thorough x-ray of the line up to this all important election in terms of profile background, antecedents and ability to deliver the needed aspirations and yearnings of the good people of Kogi state.
“We have also taken into cognizance, a candidate who is well groomed in the Governor Yahaya Bello’s (GYB) New Direction Agenda and well versed in its philosophy for the holistic transformation of Kogi state,” the NRM candidate, Drisu stated.
He clarified that the United Progressive Political Parties is made up of seasoned and tested politicians and activists, have taken cognizance of pedigree, competence,capacity and ability to deliver out of all of them seeking the exalted office.
Drisu said they therefore discovered that the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo is most worthy, based on his humility, dexterity, doggedness, steadfast,focussed and promising.
He explained further that the group were very convinced that Ododo has prospects and capability to face to face the realities of governance.
” Another salient point that informed our decision was the assurance the APC candidate has agreed to run an all inclusive government,devoid of ethnicity, religious bigotry and all other forms of differences”, the former governorship candidates said.
The former governorship candidates therefore appealed to the people of Kogi state to massively work and support the APC candidate Ahmed Usman Ododo for the November Governorship election.
