2023: Yarima Al-Basheer reacts to dismissal of his case seeking to invalidate Ari’s candidature.

By Yahaya Idris, Lafia.: A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and aspirant of the house of representatives seat due for Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency, Hon. Mohammed Yerima Al-basheer has reacted to the dismissal of his case seeking to invalidate his opponent’s candidacy, Hon. Mohammed Abdulmumini.

Hon. Justice Nehizena Idemudia Afolabi of the federal high court setting in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital had on Thursday dismissed a plaintiff case challenging the nomination of Hon. Mohammed Abdulmumini Ari for not duly elected inline with provision of electoral act as amended.

Al-basheer who is in Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj in a statement he personally signed issued few hours after his case was dismissed said following the judgement delivered today in favoured of his opponent, said his legal team have applied for the judgement and are currently studying it, adding that will advise him and his political associate on the next line of action.

Global Times Nigeria revealed that thousands of supporters across Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency took to their various Social Media platforms to expressed their heartfelt dissatisfaction with the judgement, noting that the incumbent member has failed to meet the yearning their people.

“Today, being Thursday 20th October, 2022. The Federal High Court in Lafia delivered judgement on the candidate for Nasarawa/Toto for the upcoming 2023 National Assembly elections.

The judgement which upturn our elections of 29th May, 2022. Since, We have applied for the details of the judgement and we have been given, now our team of lawyers are studying it and will advice us appropriately.”

“After due consultations with my political associates, supporters and well-wishers, We will decide on the next line of actions.”

“To my constituents, I thank you all for your unflinching support, loyalty and unreserved commitment to the course of building our people and Nasarawa/Toto Constituency and indeed Nasarawa State.”
