Economic downturn: Kogi NYCN begs President Tinubu to be considerate

The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi State chapter under the leadership of Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale, says youths in Nigeria are facing a challenging time with the high cost of living and are seeking understanding and action from their newly elected President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.

Ojodale noted that the rising cost of living can have a significant impact on the well-being and livelihoods of individuals, especially young people who may be struggling to make ends meet.

He said It’s important for leaders to listen to the concerns of their citizens and work towards finding solutions to alleviate their struggles.

The Kogi NYCN boss stated this during a Town Hall meeting organized by a Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on constituencies, held inside Glass House of Kogi State Government House Lokoja, with stakeholders drawn from across the 21 local government areas.

The Chairman expressed concerned over prevailing sufferings occasion by removal of fuel subsidy, and called on President Tinubu to look into reducing the price of petroleum Products to reduce the hardship being faced by Nigerians across the country.

Comrade Ojodale noted that if the. issues of price and scarcity of Petroleum Products is addressed frontally, it will address other challenges particularly transportation, price of foodstuffs and other major issues confronting the Economy.

He commended the president for steps being taken so far to reposition the country for sustained growth urging all critical stakeholders to support the efforts of government towards ameliorating the pains of Nigerians.
He assured of the commitment of the Youths to the growth of the country.

The meeting which was attended by Traditional and religious leaders, Youth bodies, state actors and other relevant stakeholders emphasised the need to urgently address the many challenges facing the growth of the nation.

In another development, the the youth council Chairman has felicitated with the Nigerian Workers on the Occasion of May Day.

Comrade Ojodale in a statement Commended Nigerian Workers for their resilience and dedication even in the face of the current hardship.

He urged workers in the country and Kogi State in particular to sustain their commitment and dedication to duties saying better days lie ahead.

The chairman commended the President Tinubu for his commitment to the growth of the country and urged him not to rest on his oars.

He said the 25 and 35% increase in salaries for Workers at the federal level was a commendable step and urged the president to also look more into the issues of youth unemployment and empowerment.

The Chairman also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his concern for the youth and efforts made by him so far to address issues facing the Youths of the state.
