Imo Guber judgment: Ex-Minister, Henry Ikoh congratulates Uzodinma on victory at tribunal

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minister of Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodinma on the affirmation of his election as Governor of Imo state by the State Election Petition Tribunal.

Recall that the tribunal, in a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay’s three-man panel, held that Uzodimma’s election as the state governor complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The tribunal thereby dismissed the petition filed by the Labour Party and its governorship candidate, Athan Achonu.

Reacting in a statement on Wednesday, Chief Ikoh described the recent judicial pronouncement was a true reflection of the will of the imo people who defied heavy sun during the concluded state gubernatorial polls held in November last year, to exercises their franchise in electing Senator Hope Uzodinma as their Governor for another term.

He believed that the court decision would spur Governor Uzodinma to do more in the provision of critical infrastructure to enhance the economic growths of the state.

The ex-minister hailed the judicial arm of Nigerian government for demonstrating as the last hope of a common man in the society in delivery of sound and unbiased judgment in the post-imo election suits instituted by the opposition members against the governor.

Ikoh advised the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Anyanwu, and that of the labour party, Senator Athan Achonu to accept the hands of working relationship extended to them by the governor in the interest of the state.

The party stalwart thanked imolites for reposing their confidence in Governor Hope Uzodinma and urged them also to remain steadfast with their support to the present state government, whom he said, is committed to ensuring every facets of Imo state is given economic and infrastructural facelifts for good of the people.
