The statement reads;
The Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council welcomes The New Commissioner of Police
On behalf of The Director General of our Campaign Management Council, Hon Matthew iduoriyekewhen, I wish to welcome the New Commissioner of Police Nemi Edwin-Iwo to Edo State.
As we approach an all important gubernatorial election, it is important to have a professional Police boss in an election where fairness, equity and balance is required to create that feeling of assurance that the police is there for everyone and not for a few.
No doubt that the immediate past Commissioner of Police would have handed over to you a robust file of political engagements and its flurry of activities to help guide you in the discharge of your duties.
We implore you to use your background of sound intelligence gathering having been the commissioner of Police in charge of intelligence at the police force headquarters to keep tensions down in this political season by remaining professional and unbiased as you have been known to be.
Be assured of utmost cooperation from our party the PDP and its campaign organs in the performance of your duties of maintaining law and order especially in this election season.
Once again welcome to Edo State. Please enjoy the fertile land and the hospitality that the Edo people are known for
