Kogi Governor Ododo congratulates Aiyedatiwa on his victory in Ondo governorship election
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in Saturday’s Ondo State Governorship election.
Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, issued a statement on November 17, 2024, quoting Governor Ododo, who served as Deputy Chairman of the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council’s Committee on Election Management and Strategy, as saying the all Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Aiyedatiwa’s win resulted from the party’s leadership and members’ hard work and strategic planning.
During his visit to Owo to oversee election operations in the Ondo North Senatorial district, the Governor of Kogi State expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration will sustain the developmental momentum established by the APC in Ondo State.
According to Governor Ododo
“We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo state.
“We have no doubt that he will build on existing infrastructure development, social welfare and security of lives and property across the state.
“We are confident that he will succeed with this new mandate which is a further boost to the popularity and acceptance of the APC in Ondo state.”
Governor Ododo commended the state’s residents, particularly non-indigenous communities, for their peaceful behavior during the election, acknowledging their support and promising due recognition and rewards from the government.
He urged the people of Ondo state to extend their support to Governor Aiyedatiwa as he prepares to commence his full term in office as governor in February 2025.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been officially declared the winner of the Ondo State Governorship election held on November 16, 2024, having secured 366,781 votes, thereby defeating his closest opponent, Honourable Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party, who garnered 117,845 votes.
