Sen. Karimi Begins Construction, Rehabilitation of 140 Boreholes Valued At N1.24billion Across Kogi West

Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, ha wills started constructing 75 solar-powered boreholes and rehabilitating 60 non-functional water schemes across Kogi West communities, at a cost of N1.24 billion.

According to Sen. Sunday Karimi, the project spans the seven local government areas within the Senatorial District, aiming to alleviate the challenges faced by constituents in accessing clean water.

The Senator stated that contractors deployed across various sites have committed to completing the project within a four-month period.

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources is hosting the project, which has been awarded to two companies recognized for their established working relationships with the Ministry.

Honorable Suleiman Babadoko, a two-time member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and prominent APC chieftain in Lokoja Local Government, praised Senator Karimi’s unparalleled impact on his constituents in Kogi West.

Babadoko said that within a remarkably short period, the senator has created and funded cooperative societies for women in the 7 Local Governments, providing funding of over N160 million.

He further stated that he awards N100,000 bursaries to 1,000 students annually, totaling N100 million, and was commended for constructing a Forward Operating Base for the Military, a project valued at hundreds of millions of naira.

He commended the Senator for facilitating the upgrade of Government Secondary School Koton Karfi with a contract worth over a billion naira and for providing transformers and solar street lights to various communities.

He applauded his consistent provision of trailer loads of rice and Semovita to alleviate poverty, distribution of fertilizers to farmers, and several other community development initiatives.

Hon. Babadoko commended Sen. Karimi as a leader with profound affection for his people, wishing him robust health and further success in serving the community.
