The 2027 governorship campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has received a new organisational structure with the appointment of Dr. Augustine Laha Dzever as Director General of the Aondoakaa/Ogbenjuwa Campaign Organization.
Dzever was appointed by the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by James Ian, Media Assistant to Aondoakaa.

Dzever, who hails from Buruku Local Government Area, is a former Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board and Chairman of the PDP G-14.
His appointment places him at the head of the campaign’s operational structure as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship election.
Aondoakaa described the new campaign director general as a tested leader with experience in administration, grassroots mobilisation and political organisation.
The candidate said Dzever would be expected to coordinate party members and supporters while taking the campaign’s “BENUE FIRST” message to communities across the state.
He also highlighted Dzever’s expected role in liaising with the Strategic Alliance and Rainbow Coalition.
Aondoakaa said the appointment was part of a broader effort to build a campaign organisation comprising individuals with experience and knowledge of Benue’s political landscape.
The candidate said the campaign’s stated vision includes security, economic prosperity, healthcare, education and opportunities for residents.
He, however, said the complete membership of the campaign organisation would be announced after consultations with key PDP stakeholders.
Those listed for consultation include former Governor Samuel Ortom, Senator Patrick Abba Moro, the PDP State Executive Committee and other critical stakeholders.
Aondoakaa also thanked PDP leaders and members for their support and urged continued unity ahead of the election.
Dzever has previously represented the PDP G-14 in public engagements, with reports identifying him as chairman of the group.
