Gov Ododo felicitates with new NUJ President, Vice President
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has sent congratulatory messages to Alhassan Yahaya on his election as the president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the just concluded triennial delegates conference held in Owerri, the capital of Imo state.
In a statement issued on November 30, 2024, Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Kogi State, quoted Governor Ododo as describing the new NUJ president as a dedicated media professional committed to promoting the welfare of journalists in Nigeria, as evident during his tenure as Deputy National President of the Union.
The Governor stated that he was proud of the all-encompassing consultation and campaign that led to the emergence of the new NUJ president, and encouraged him to sustain an inclusive approach while giving top priority to the welfare of union members during his tenure.
He lauded the union members for their orderly conduct during the election that brought in the new leadership.
Governor Ododo also extended congratulations to Alhaji Momoh Jimoh Adeiza, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, on his election as Vice President of the NUJ in Zone D, comprising Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He pointed out that MJ Adeiza is a seasoned journalist who has earned recognition and respect for Kogi State over the years.
Governor Ododo wishes the newly elected NUJ president and other members of the new national executive committee a successful tenure in office.
