1,600 Corps members registered for 2024 NYSC Batch C stream 1 orientation course

Commissioner for Youth Development in Nasarawa State, Jafaru Ango, has urged National youth Service corps (NYSC) members posted to Nasarawa State to work towards promoting national unity.

He made the assertion while inaugurating the 2024 NYSC batch C stream one orientation course, held at Magaji Danyamusa NYSC permanent orientation camp in Keffi, Friday.

Ango noted that the Nasarawa state government considers the presence of corps members in the state to be essential in light of their meaningful contributions to the state’s advancement.

The commissioner, representing Governor Abdullahi Sule at the event, tasked the corps members to be dedicated and committed to the teachings and camp activities, so they could apply them in the society.

He emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule, has implemented measures to ensure the security of lives and property, thereby enabling them to fulfill their primary responsibilities as expected.

Salamatu Muhammad, coordinator of NYSC in Nasarawa State, explained that the programme is structured to empower corps members with the knowledge necessary to be beneficial to society, advising them to uphold NYSC rules and guidelines to ensure successful development.

According to the state coordinator, one thousand six hundred corps members have registered for the exercise. She urged them to participate in all camp activities, particularly the SAED programme, and commended state and local governments for their support of NYSC activities.

Global Times Nigeria correspondent reports that while administering the oath of allegiance to corps members, Nasarawa State’s chief judge, Aisha Aliyu Bashir, represented by Justice Mustapha Ramat, charged them to respect constituted authorities and abide by the laws of the land, warning them against participating in activities inimical to their development.
