Dr. Betta Edu, the immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty alleviation recently hosted the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, and his entourage to an Iftar gathering at her residence in Calabar, Cross River State.
The event was also attended by the Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, along with other dignitaries from the university and the Muslim community.
This gathering highlighted Dr. Edu’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony and unity, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
Edu, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to sustaining peace and fostering unity, cultural appreciation, and interfaith harmony in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She made these remarks on Wednesday during an Iftar gathering at her residence in Calabar, where she hosted the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, alongside other dignitaries. The event emphasized the importance of interfaith collaboration and cultural inclusivity in national development.
Dr. Betta Edu, a former National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been a voice for women and children since she ventured into politics.
Global Times Nigeria reports that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, led the Chairman and members of the University’s Governing Council, the Management and entire University Community on including students to abseved Ramadan Iftar.
Also in attendance were Leadership of the Muslim Community In Cross River state and other Muslim faithfuls.
This is coming at a time when the Christian faithfuls are also observing their annual lent.
