The Chairman of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) Gudu Branch, Abuja, Alhaji Bisimillahi Tajudeen, has congratulated Alhaja Modinat Akintunde on her retirement from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) after 35 years of meritorious service.
Tajudeen, who was also an aspirant for the Kogi West Senatorial ticket of the APC during the party’s recently concluded primaries, thanked Almighty Allah for preserving Akintunde’s life throughout her years in public service, describing her retirement as “retired but not tired.”
Speaking during a retirement celebration held at the NASFAT Gudu Branch in the Federal Capital Territory, Tajudeen said the occasion was a memorable and joyous one as members gathered to honour Mrs. Modinat Akintunde, whom he described as a woman of exceptional character and immense value.
He noted that Akintunde, the wife of Yunus Akintunde, had distinguished herself through dedicated service to the nation and humanitarian endeavours.
According to him, the event attracted several prominent personalities, including Sharafadeen Alli, Olatunji Disu, Ambassador Adekunle Adeleke, Chief of Protocol to the President, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, and Akeem Adeyemi, among other dignitaries.
Tajudeen described their presence as a reflection of the esteem in which the Akintunde family is held, adding that he considered it a privilege to serve as Chairman of the NASFAT Gudu Branch.
He also paid tribute to Baba Olasupo, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NASFAT, commending his pioneering role in the establishment of the Islamic organisation over three decades ago.
According to him, what began as a small gathering in Baba Olasupo’s bedroom has grown into a global Islamic movement dedicated to faith, education and humanitarian service.
The APC chieftain equally praised Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for what he described as visionary leadership and ongoing reforms in the Nigeria Police Force.
He cited the reduction of unnecessary roadblocks, renewed emphasis on community policing, improved professionalism among officers and intensified efforts to tackle insecurity as evidence of the reforms.
Tajudeen prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, wisdom and protection for the Inspector General as he discharges his responsibilities in ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians.
He also offered prayers for Senator Sharafadeen Alli, wishing him success in his political aspirations, and appreciated Ambassador Adekunle Adeleke for attending the event.
Congratulating Mrs. Akintunde on her retirement, Tajudeen commended her for 35 years of dedicated service at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, describing her career as exemplary and impactful.
He prayed that Allah would bless her with good health, long life and greater accomplishments in retirement, while also asking for continued unity, peace and progress within NASFAT.
“Congratulations once again to our dear mother. May Almighty Allah reward her abundantly and grant her many more years of fruitful service to humanity,” he said.
