NASWAMSA partners with Dangote Sinotruk to boost waste management in Nasarawa

On Friday, May 16, 2024, the Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority (NASWAMSA) proudly hosted a high-powered delegation from Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd. The visit marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the state’s waste management agency and a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.
The delegation from Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd came to explore potential partnerships aimed at enhancing waste management operations in Nasarawa State.
The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening private-sector collaboration in the state’s waste management drive.

The delegation led Mr. Adeola Adeyoku, presented their range of advanced waste management trucks for potential acquisition by NASWAMSA.
The Director General of NASWAMSA, Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa, emphasized the need for tailored waste management solutions, given the state’s unique topographical and urban development challenges.
The Director General requested a visibility tour of Dangote Sinotruk’s operational facility in Lagos to assess their manufacturing capacity and equipment suitability.
He also stressed the importance of building a sustainable partnership, including investment opportunities in waste recycling.

The Authority highlighted its pressing needs for equipment such as Graders, Excavators, Road Sweeping Machines, and Open Trucks to address diverse terrain and sanitation demands across urban and semi-urban communities.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing commitment to deepening engagement and working towards a mutually beneficial partnership that aligns with Nasarawa State’s vision for modern, integrated waste management.
This strategic engagement is part of NASWAMSA’s ongoing efforts to attract reputable private sector actors to transform waste into wealth, improve public health, and promote environmental sustainability across the state.
Given Dangote Sinotruk’s recent activities, including the commissioning of its CKD plant in Lagos and supplying trucks to the Lagos State Government for waste management, this collaboration could mark a significant step towards improving waste management infrastructure in Nasarawa state.
