Nasarawa State youth and women groups have appealed to Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya, the Chief Executive Officer of Maikaya Development Foundation and Ciroman Toto, to seek the governorship in 2027, recognizing his humanitarian service and inclusive leadership.
According to report, the Nasarawa Youths Coalition for Ciroman Toto held a press briefing in Lafia, the State capital on Monday, May 19, to make the appeal public

Coalition leader Yahaya David praised Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya for his significant contributions to education, youth and women empowerment, and support for the underprivileged in Nasarawa State.

He highlighted Maikaya’s philanthropic efforts through the Maikaya Development Foundation, which has awarded scholarships to numerous students, supported youth and women empowerment programs, and provided healthcare assistance including enrolling 750 vulnerable individuals into the state’s health insurance scheme.
David emphasized Maikaya’s consistent humanitarian service and inclusive leadership as key reasons for the coalition’s appeal for him to contest the 2027 governorship election
“Your consistency and unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, despite your previous unsuccessful attempt at the exalted position, has not gone unnoticed,” David said, describing Maikaya as a bridge between elites and masses.
A coalition of youth and women groups in Nasarawa State believes Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya’s leadership can unite and develop the state, especially at a time they describe as a critical juncture requiring transformational leadership.
They highlighted his impactful projects, including borehole drilling, electricity restoration, scholarships, and business support initiatives as evidence of his commitment to community development. Youth leaders from all 13 local government areas expressed confidence in Maikaya’s potential victory in the 2027 governorship election.
The coalition urged him to accept the call to run, framing it as a duty rather than ambition.
