2027: Youths of Idah Federal Constituency seek female reps

In preparation for the 2027 general elections, youths from Idah Federal Constituency in Kogi State have called for a female representative to represent them in the National Assembly, emphasizing that women can provide effective leadership and governance comparable to their male counterparts if given the opportunity.

The youths argue that men have dominated the political landscape for too long without achieving much, hence the necessity to shift ground and allow women to demonstrate their capabilities at the National Assembly.

In a lead advocacy role, Concerned youths from Idah Federal Constituency under the Chairmanship of Apostle Ali Sunday in a statement on Sunday said the youths of the area are craving to support a female federal legislator to represent them in 2027

According to the group leader, the male representatives have overstayed their welcome, and it is time to transfer leadership to enhance efficient development in the area.

The group, comprising representatives from across Idah Federal Constituency, has been mandated to mobilize support for a female candidate, urging their male counterparts to exercise restraint, having stayed in power for too long with little to show.

The coalition asserts that 2027 will mark a historic milestone as a female representative will, for the first time, represent the people of Idah Federal Constituency, heralding a significant victory for democracy.
