Comrade Benjamin Ojodale Jeremiah, popularly known as Comr. Jerry, officially made his intention to run for the National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) known during a critical stakeholders meeting held inside the Youth House Lokoja, Kogi State on Tuesday.
The meeting brought together past leaders and influential figures including Comr. Haroun Opotu, Comr. Godwin SB Emmanuel, Comr. Bala, Comr. Israel Alonge, Comr. Mario, and other key stakeholders.
Comr. Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale said he convened the meeting specifically to brief these important stakeholders on his ambition to contest for the highest office in the NYCN.
He described the invited stakeholders as his strength and emphasized the need for a leadership that can effectively position the Council at the national level.
While highlighting the vibrancy of the Kogi State Chapter, Comr. Jerry pointed out that despite Kogi’s active role, the state has never held the National Presidency of the NYCN.
With the office currently zoned to the North, he urged for collaborative efforts among stakeholders to ensure that Kogi State can finally occupy this prestigious position.
Comr. Jerry’s call borne out of a desire to bring renewed focus, unity, and strategic leadership to the NYCN, leveraging the strength and potential of Kogi State youth leadership on the national stage.
The aspirant pledged to revitalize NYCN at the national level by shifting the focus to quality service delivery and assured the State Council that he would not disappoint them if elected.
Comr. Jerry described the support and encouragement from outside the state as commendable and promised to lead the youths of Nigeria to a brighter future if elected.
The Kogi NYCN State Chairman outlined his numerous achievements as Chairman, noting that his tenure saw significant improvements in infrastructure and human capital development, and pledged to replicate these accomplishments at the national level if elected.

In his remarks, Comr. Haroun Opotu expressed optimism about Comr. Jerry’s potential to excel if elected, but urged him to intensify his outreach efforts by seeking the support of the state’s youths.
Other speakers, including Comr. Fiki, Comr. Godwin SB Emmanuel, Comr. Bala, Comr. Alonge, Comr. Farouk, and Comr. Mario cautioned against a divided house and urged a united front from the state in supporting Comr. Jerry’s bid for the national presidency.
They advised against campaign calumny and emphasized the need for wider consultation, stating that it is time for the state to seek higher glory in NYCN.
