Abdulmalik Usman assumes duty as FRIN Board Chairman in Ibadan

Global Times Nigeria has obtained a reports that the newly inaugurated Board Chairman of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), Hon. (Alhaji) Abdulmalik Ahmed Usman, paid a one-day familiarization visit to the FRIN office in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Usman, who also served as the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairman for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was accompanied by his Special Assistant, Yusuf Mohammed Nadabo, and his Personal Assistant, Mr. Adeniran Babarinde.
The visit aimed to acquaint the Chairman and his team with the operations and ongoing projects at the Ibadan office, strengthening their engagement with the institute’s activities.
This visit marks the beginning of Hon. Usman’s active involvement in FRIN’s mission to advance forestry research and sustainable management of Nigeria’s forest resources.
The Chairman was warmly received by the management and staff of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN). The team expressed overwhelming optimism and confidence that the new Board Chairman, with his wealth of knowledge and well-known leadership style, will help actualize the renewed hope agendas of the current administration.

These agendas focus on advancing forestry research, particularly in areas such as the conservation of economically important tree species for agricultural research, innovation, and development.
In his brief yet impactful speech, the Chairman warmly welcomed all members of FRIN’s management and staff. He emphasized the critical importance of teamwork and commitment to effectively deliver the core mandates of the Institute.
He also made it clear that his door is always open for meaningful suggestions and contributions aimed at propelling the Institute to greater heights.
He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for considering him and members of the board even as he assured that they wont disappoint the President
In response, all management and staff members assured the Chairman of their readiness to collaborate and foster a cooperative working environment.
They pledged their commitment to teamwork to ensure smooth operations and the successful achievement of FRIN’s objectives.

Following the meeting, the Chairman and his entourage were given a guided tour of the FRIN premises and offices, allowing them to gain firsthand insight into the Institute’s operations.
The visit concluded with a group photograph with the management before the Chairman departed for Abuja.
