The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umar Salihu, popularly known as “White Lion,” has urged party faithful and undecided political actors to align with the APC, expressing confidence in the party’s continued dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Salihu made the call on Saturday when he joined Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya in hosting residents, party stakeholders, coordinators, and supporters at his residence in Toto.
The APC chairman also called on other governorship aspirants within the party to emulate Maikaya’s decision to embrace the party’s consensus arrangement, describing it as a demonstration of humility, loyalty, and political maturity.
According to him, Maikaya’s acceptance of the consensus outcome in good faith has further strengthened unity and cohesion within the APC in Nasarawa State.
He stressed that all aspirants had earlier agreed to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate, adding that the time had come for them to demonstrate sincerity and integrity by honouring that commitment.
Salihu maintained that following the same path would ensure that their collective efforts and sacrifices are not in vain.
Reaffirming his optimism about the party’s prospects, he declared that the APC would retain power in 2027 and beyond, urging those still on the political fence to join what he described as the “winning train.”
He also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his leadership and tact in managing the process that produced Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the party’s preferred consensus governorship candidate.
