Ododo Confirms Anataku Shaibu as Substantive Provost of Kogi Health College

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the confirmation of Mr. Umar Anataku Shaibu as the substantive Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, is seen as part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen leadership and reposition tertiary institutions in the state for improved performance and academic excellence.
Mr. Shaibu, who previously served in an acting capacity, was said to have demonstrated administrative competence, transparency, and commitment to the development of the institution. Under his leadership, the college recorded improvements in coordination, staff morale, and academic activities.
Government sources noted that the confirmation reflects the administration’s emphasis on merit, competence, and effective service delivery in public institutions.
As substantive Provost, Shaibu is expected to consolidate on existing gains while advancing reforms aimed at improving academic standards, promoting research, upgrading infrastructure, and fostering partnerships within the health and education sectors.
