Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has received the Labour Party nomination form free of charge from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

The presentation took place at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, during a brief ceremony led by the party’s National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, who headed the NWC delegation.

Usman described Otti as a shining example of the party’s ideals, commending his performance in office and commitment to the principles of equal opportunities and social justice.

She said the decision to grant him a free nomination form was in recognition of his achievements and to encourage him to sustain quality governance in Abia State.

Also speaking, the party’s National Secretary, Hon. Obioma Iheanacho, lauded the governor for his loyalty and unwavering commitment to the Labour Party, particularly during periods of internal crisis when many defected to other platforms.

In his response, Otti expressed appreciation to the NWC for the gesture, assuring the party of his continued support and commitment. He pledged not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him.

The governor also praised the leadership of Senator Usman for stabilising the party after a prolonged crisis, expressing optimism about its preparedness for forthcoming general elections.

He noted that all legal disputes involving the party had been resolved, clearing the way for its political activities.

Members of the NWC who accompanied the chairman included National Organising Secretary, Mrs. Oluchi Oparah; National Woman Leader, Hilda Dokubo; and National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ken Asogwa.

Also present at the event were former National Secretary of the party, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, who also received a free nomination form; Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, leader of Abia caucus in the House of Representatives, alongside other federal lawmakers from the state, as well as members of the Abia State Executive Council.
