An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Kaura, has pledged to deliver impactful and people-oriented representation if elected at the forthcoming primary election.

Kaura, who outlined his agenda during a meeting with party officials and stakeholders from Karu, Karshi, Uke, Keffi and Panda, said his legislative focus would centre on active participation in lawmaking and the sponsorship of bills that would directly benefit his constituents.

He identified youth and women empowerment as key priorities, alongside the provision of soft loans to support small and medium-scale enterprises across the constituency.

The former Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, who also served as Permanent Member III at the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board and as a board member of the Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, said his wealth of experience at both state and federal levels positions him to serve effectively.

Kaura urged party executives and supporters to remain cautious in their public engagements and avoid actions that could undermine his aspiration. He called for renewed commitment to his ambition, recalling the support that led to his emergence as Karu LGA chairman in 2009.

While addressing party faithful, he emphasised the need for unity and respect for party leadership, noting that the governor had endorsed Hon. Wadada as the preferred candidate. He therefore appealed to his supporters to align with the party’s direction.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Mohammed Sani, Special Adviser to the Karu LGA Chairman, called on APC stakeholders across the three local government areas to view Kaura’s aspiration as a strategic opportunity to secure effective representation at the National Assembly.

He described Karu LGA as the “engine room” of Nasarawa State, citing its significant contribution to the state’s voting strength and revenue base.

In their separate remarks, the APC Chairman in Karu LGA, Mr. Samson Muntari, Women Leader, Hajiya Hauwa Ishaku, and Youth Leader, Comrade Dio Joshua, pledged their support for Kaura’s aspiration, assuring that they would mobilise grassroots backing ahead of the primaries.

The aspirant has also intensified consultations, meeting with stakeholders in three wards in Karu LGA and five wards across Karshi Development Area, Keffi, and Panda Administrative Area Council.

Addressing ward executives during the visits, Kaura said his ambition to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives is driven by a desire to serve as a bridge-builder, foster unity, and contribute meaningfully to development, drawing from his record as former Karu LGA chairman.

Stakeholders at the meetings expressed confidence in his candidacy, describing him as a tested and trusted leader capable of delivering effective representation.
