Delta Govt Urges Students to Apply for 2026 MTN Foundation Scholarship
The Delta State Government has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026 MTN Foundation Scholarship Programme, urging qualified students across the state to take advantage of the opportunity.
In a special announcement issued by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the state government disclosed that the online application portal would remain open until May 31, 2026.
According to the statement, the scholarship initiative aligns with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, particularly in the area of expanding educational opportunities and supporting academic excellence among students in the state.
The scholarship programme, sponsored by the MTN Foundation, offers an annual grant of N300,000 to successful beneficiaries throughout their duration of study, subject to maintaining the required academic performance.
The statement explained that the scheme covers three categories, including the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship for students in STEM-related disciplines, the Scholarship for Blind Students, and the Medical Students Scholarship for students in public universities and teaching hospitals.
Eligibility requirements include being a student of a Nigerian public university, polytechnic or college of education, with applicants expected to have completed their 200-level examinations or currently be in 300 level.
It added that STEM and medical students must possess a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent, while visually impaired students are required to have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
Interested applicants were advised to visit mtn.ng to confirm eligibility and complete the application process.
The Delta State Government encouraged qualified students across the state to utilise the scholarship opportunity as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational support and empowerment for Deltans.
